The international competition launched by Jannelli & Volpi had as its object a wall covering for a room in a hotel or bed & breakfast.
A great success for Jannelli & Volpi’s “Wall Paper Design Contest”, aimed at designers, architects, photographers, set designers, artists, creative people and students: 1,065 entrants and over 500 projects from every corner of the world.
The panel chose 5 projects, all very different in terms of technical characteristics and contents. The winners are:
Catherine Schnoebelen with "Scale ½" Inspired by the results of map programs such as Google Earth. The chosen subject is a religious site, the Vatican, which is merged into a repetitive decorative motif.

Celina von Stromberg with "What is what wall" What appears to be an ornamental line on the wall with a strong iconographic impact in fact contains a raft of information, useful for a foreign tourist visiting Italy. Ljiljana Tutnjevic and Damir Bralic with "Surveypaper" The designers of this wallpaper were inspired by blogs and myspace. Visitors to the hotel are invited to leave a message, a trace of their identity in the space where they temporarily lived. An active and dynamic wallpaper.
Marco Teatro with "Ants" A texture composed of millions of ants. The insects, visible only upon careful observation, completely cover the walls of a hotel room. Blanche Steigel and Daniela Petermann with "Perception" The wall of a hotel can become a vehicle of information for the observer. In this project the decorative element becomes legible: a map to find your way around the city.
