Abitare il Tempo 2007: the culture of design |

Mark September 20 to 24, 2007 in Verona on your calendars for “Abitare il Tempo", the international show dedicated to Italian and international design and quality furnishings. For this 2007 edition, the show has chosen the Serie Up armchair designed by Gaetano Pesce in 1969 for B&B Italia as its logo. Alessandro Mendini, a multifaceted personality and star of Italian design was presented with the 6th “Abitare il Tempo” award. In addition to exhibitions of the furnishing and accessories of 700 firms, the Verona show has also planned an exciting programme of collateral events. Here they are. |

Linking People - Objective: Contract Carlo Amadori and Simone Micheli have organised Linking People (Hall 7-b) as a moment of discuss the contract sector in the broader sense of the word, including everything from new expressions of residential, service, and tourist offerings on the “Made in Italy” real estate market. Ten installations signed by Lorenzo Bellini, Gianfranco Bestetti, Aldo Cibic, Giugiaro Architettura, Simone Micheli with Beniamino Cristofani and Salvatore Re, Ettore Mocchetti, Pierandrei Associati, Luca Scacchetti, Claudio Silvestrin, and Versace Home Collection offer their takes on present and future contract works.

Exploration and re-exploration: the research show Three grand shows await visitors in Hall 8. The gallery offers anticipation with the "An Enchanted Forest” exhibition designed by Federica Marangoni: 20 totems of the Berengo Fine Arts, Murano glass works designed by artists from all over the world. Then there is “Italian New Wave”, projects from schools of design, organised by Carlo Amadori, Vanni Pasca, and Luca Scacchetti with displays by Luca Scacchetti and Peter Bottazzi. Ten Italian Schools and Universities of design exhibit the fruit of their activities in a space they designed themselves. “The Italian New Wave” round table will also deal with the issues of young people in designs, research vectors, and their relationships with relaunching "Made in Italy" in the world. The project by Vittorio Locatelli and Carlo Ninchi is entitled “In cerca di Alice” (Seeking Alice) and portrays the complexity of the experience with spaces, objects, innovation, and memory in the dreamland of a modern Alice. Finally, “Mutagenesis”, by Arne Quinte, a Belgian artist, self-made architect, street artist, and graffiti artist, combines furnishings and metropolitan performances in his huge display.

These Architectures are designed by: Peter Bottazzi, Carlo Colombo, Maurizio Duranti, Mario Mazzer, Simone Micheli, Nucleo+Piergiorgio Robino, Matteo Nunziati, Luca Scacchetti, Roberto Semprini, Giovanna Talocci, Enrico Tonucci, Marco Viola.
