Cersaie, the most important international showcase of ceramic tiles and bathroom furniture, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year in the customary venue of the Bologna Exhibition Centre, Italy. The various events at the Cersaie 2007 show will be promoted by the image created by Toyo Ito, the eighth architect and designer of world fame commissioned to design the show’s poster.

In addition to the usual appointments such as the economic conference on Tuesday 2nd October, the international press conference on 3rd October, the technical seminars organised by Centro Ceramico Bologna and an architecture conference, Ceramic Tiles of Italy in cooperation with Italian ceramic companies is launching a communication and image initiative entitled Creativitiles to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Cersaie. The Creativitiles project is an exhibition that aims to bring together the worlds of industry and art.

The idea is to revisit a number of famous pictorial works and transform them into installations using ceramic tiles as the “raw material for creativity”, thus synergistically bringing together the two spheres of art and industry. Rather than slavish reproductions of works of art, these are original artistic creations that combine scenographic and trompe-l’oeil techniques.
